November 2019
A few months ago, I felt the Lord start speaking about transition. I kept hearing a lot of talk in the Body of Christ about it as well. Then, we had some staff changes- new volunteers, new staff, some staff transitioning out. Then, I moved into a new house. I kept feeling like there was something more or new coming for the house of prayer as well.
And after many months of prayer, discussions with staff and volunteers, our Board, and other leaders and mentors in the city and beyond, we feel that we need to go after the city of Omaha in a new way as a house of prayer.
The vision for how we go after the city in a new way is to transition out of our current location. We will then spend several months traveling around strategic locations in the Omaha metro. We will be hosted by different churches or ministries for several weeks at a time (continuing the prayer room at each place), before finding another permanent location to create a sanctuary of 24/7 prayer and worship.
Emmanuel Fellowship Church has graciously agreed to be our first host site beginning Monday, December 2nd. Our prayer room hours (Mon-Thurs 12-10p) will remain the same there but some of our other activities and trainings may change as we follow the Lord’s leading and instruction and partner with host sites in each strategic part of our city.
Traveling around to different host sites is a lot of work and puts a lot of stress on our staff, but we so strongly feel the Lord leading us that we can’t resist. We are hoping to come out of this season with greater strength, zeal for the Lord’s house, partnerships and awareness in the city of Omaha of the house of prayer. We know the Lord has something for the city, for each host site, and something for the house of prayer as we make this shift.
